So I end up saving several times as I'm going through things. It also happens during inventory management at the end of the mission. From then on, I save almost every few turns if action happens. The first time it happened I lost almost an entire mission and hours of game play. It seems when trying to save shortly after the game has autosaved results in a much higher proportion of the bug happening. I've come to realise this is linked to autosave, but I can't be much more precise than that. The first, on PS4 on average once a mission, when I attempt to save the game crashes. In this game I've come across 3 game breakers. Yes, I've seen many a soldier die on Xcom due to bugs. Any fan of turn games know that they're often buggy. It makes this boring and a massive chore. I literally spend around the same amount of time after a mission going through inventory as I do completing the mission.

Just attempting to explain why it's bad sends shivers down my spine so I'll just leave it at 'it's awful'. Dear Lord, in all my time gaming I've never come across such a monotonous system. Or trying to remember which button increases shot accuracy etc. Nobody sits there with a pen and paper noting what seem like close to irrelevant information at the time. This is one of many examples that can wreck your playthrough. But there way no way to tell whatsoever, short of going in the mission via trial and error. It turns out that missions during night are essential to a stealth playthrough like mine. A few days later when I put the game on, naturally I didn't remember the exact times. For example, at one point during the game it explains that 'night time' is 18:00-05:00. The problem is, some absolutely crucial aspects are shown to you once, never to be seen or accessed ever again. On your playthrough you were given a short tutorial mission which shows you how some basic aspects of the game work.

Firstly, two big issues with the game are a) the lack of information on how to play the game and game mechanics and b) inventory management on the PS4 port. The basis for a good game is here but the execution is poor and the port lazy. The game play is like the former and survival aspect the latter. A much better comparison would be to describe it as a cross between Valkyria Chronicles and This War is Mine (one of my favourite Indy games). I've seen loose comparisons with games like Xcom purely because it's a turn based strategy with guns. I've almost finished it and spent a lot of hours, I feel well placed to weigh up the pros and cons. This game, frankly is pretty horrible and mainly down to the appalling PS4 port. This game, frankly is pretty Firstly, this game is right in my arc, with XCOM 2 being quite possibly my favourite game of all time.
